Hello,
I am from India and currently visiting USA on B2 visa. I recently got a job with a very reputed firm in US and applied for an H1B but my application reached USCIS after the H1B quota was full.
I really want to work for my new employer and would like to know what other options do I have to obtain work permit in USA other than L1 Visa?

When my wife went to get her H-4 stamped, I gave her my original I-797. I think the applicant need to carry the original I-797 document with them for the interview...

Dear all,
Could you please help with a question? My family has I140 approved and 485 pending. But we are leaving the US. What is the best way to deal with I485?
1. If we withdraw I485, can I apply for B1 visa later to come back for business? Or because we have applied for immigration visa, our B1 application will be denied?
2. If we change I485 to Consular Process, probably we can not apply for B1, right?

An I-140 petition filed for you by your current employer will have no impact on the pending I-140 appeal filed by your future employer.

My wife is laid off and her company is going to cancel her H1B soon. h1 petition is getting expired on Oct,2009. now I am going to apply for COS to h4. If she wants get H1 status after one year can she use the same petition for H1 transfer?. or she has to apply a new H1?.

She has to apply for COS again from H4 to H1. It will not be subjected to the cap if she had H1 within last six years at the tme applying COS to H1

Dear Members,
Recently my husband had received an RFE on I-485 requesting information about his employment verification letter. He had sent all documents back to USCIS and today, I saw an update on my case. The message read that case processing resumed and there will be a decision or update made in 60 days.
Do you know what kind of decision they usually make? Is it normal to have such statements written up for a denial or approval?
Any words of comfort would help. My husband is the primary applicant.

Hi,
I have been granted an asylum last year in July. I sent my I-485 to adjust my status this year on August 24th with the fee waiver form (sending proof of food stamp eligibility and supporting documents.)
Today is October 2nd(its been almost 40 days) and I have not received a document receipt from USCIS (we are a family of 3 and non of us has received anything in regards to this matter)
Please let me know what actions should I take or should i wait?! Is it possible to not get a receipt and just receive the finger print notice in the next few months?! (I just checked texas service center's processing times, and it says they are at March 28th,2010 now)

My wife has H1 visa approved under Consular Processing from Company A, so she is still under H4. She got another offer from Company B so we applied for another H1B before H1B quota expired. It is under process.
1 ) we applied for COS from H4 to H1 By Company A by premium processing.
2 ) Company B H1B from H4 is also under process.

One of my friend had a problem in the recieved EAD card
- they took an infopass appointment at the local center http://infopass.uscis.gov/
- based on their advice - they sent another application without fees - and they corrected and sent a new EAD card

Thanks to reader Adi for the link. Huffington Post reports on a data compiled by America's Voice showing crime in Arizona dropping dramatically across the state for most of the last decade EXCEPT for the area controlled by Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio. After we have filed for 485 and lets say we (me and my spouse) receive our EAD's. If I quit my job after 6 months of filing, can my spouse (secondary applicant) continue to renew her EAD's or would she have problems since I (the primary applicant) is no longer working for the company and maybe working for myself?

The NJ team has taken the initiative to make more people aware of the situation our organization. As part of this initiative, the NJ team will be distributing flyers to visitors of the Bridgewater temple today starting at 11.30 am.
If you would like to participate in activities like this, please feel free to start a thread for your state/district and other volunteers can pitch in

I have been sailent follower of the IV and it has been an great help i have got from IV for my GC gourney. I have received the CPO email for me and my wifes 485 of friday, but nothing after that no approval email or welcome notice email, is this is common?
