    I don't think I've ever seen a discount, Canon triple rebates, or any low prices in general over here...

    Your prices are lower *and* you get rebates - not that I want the Kodak dSLR, but it's still not fair. :)

    Hello

    Am currently on F1 - OPT status (stem OPT). Been working as a volunteer intern for past few months. Currently one of start-up company is interested in hiring me but they do not have a legal department and also not enough resources to apply for H1B. I offered to pay for my H1B fees, but they have no idea how to go about this.
    Can anyone please tell how do i go about this? What kind of lawyer should i approach , what information will i need from the company, how much money does all this involve.
    The other option is start working for this company , get H1 done through a consultant and transfer the H1b, again this involves legal dept which neither me nor the company has any idea. Please advise .
    My OPT is valid until Dec 2011.

    I will start working Jan/2007 as OPT. The company will apply H-1b for me after April.1st. At the same time, I also apply for phd program and I am not sure if I can get school offer. I believe I will know the result of phd application before the H-1b gets approved.
    My question is:
    If I get school offer, I know it is easy to cancel H-1b but how to cancel change of status? what is my status after I leave the company and before I go to school? what do I need to do to keep OPT until enrollment?

    With my knowledge, I don't think your current salary should matter for the future employement. But it shouldn't be grossly differrent. One of my friend got his GC approved with H1B salary less than salary mentioned in I140. What I would like to say is not worry to about it much until your attorney says it is a problem.

    Hi Gurus,

    I wanted to know if I can work for H-1B with my current company which holds my H-1B and work outside with another company on EAD. Is there a chance that I may loose my H-1B status if I work with EAD.

    The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports on today's citizenship swearing in of Irish-born James Patrick O'Donnell. Mr. O'Donnell immigrated to the US at the age of 4 in 1926 and fought for our country in World War II and won a Bronze Battle Star.     My sister is in US in Visitor Visa with I-94 expiration date of Nov 25th 2009. We would like to convert her status from B2 to F1 Visa ASAP.

    1) Do you know anyone who has changed the status from B2 and F1? If yes, can you share the experience?
    2) Is it risky to do that? What kinds of problem we may encounter?
    3) Can she stay in US while F1 is pending? what happens if rejection shows up after her current i-94 expiration date?
    4) Is it better to go home country and apply for the F1 Visa or it is safer to change the the status in US.

    Any advise you can throw will be appreciated.

    I have been working with company A since december 2005 on my OPT.
    Company A filed for my H1 that was approved and the start date for this
    visa is december 1st 2006 (OPT expires december 15th, 2006). I am
    talking to company B that wants me to join in november but is not sure
    if they can file for a transfer before my visa begins. I have looked
    around in various forums but havent found a satisfactory answer.
    I have pay stubs from company A but, of course, they would be dated from
    before the beginning of my visa. Can I use these for my transfer
    application? Is transfer even possible in my case?

    This incident opened my eyes and prodded me to move my fat ass to do something about this.

    I just made my first contribution of $100 to IV.

    Gandhi once said "Make your contribution, however insignificant you think it is. In reality, your contribution makes a huge difference".

    Like he said, our little acts when combined become a formidable act and can accomplish a lot. I would suggest others make contributions too - especially now when everyone is excited - before you get back to the usual reticent state. let us not try to ride piggyback on some else's efforts.
