If there is a anti immigration material in any website, instead of pointing a link to it, it is better to copy paste the content here. This way we can avoid HITs to the website. The reverse could be done for pro-immigrant news/articles etc where the link will help us to post comments on the news website directly.
Of course there are some sites where registration is required and you can copy the content in that case for the benefit of others.

Hi All,
2 employers had applied H1B for me with 'change of status' from L1B.
One of them got approved, and I have already moved to that company from October 2008.
Now the other employer is informing me (its december !!!) that the petition has got a RFE, asking proof of valid L1B at the time of applying..
Here is my question:
- Should I tell that guy to withdraw my application ?
- If the RFE is answered , is there any threat to the H1B petition I am currently using for employment.
(I dont want to cause any harm to my current petition under which I am employed).
Please let me know. Thanks.

I did send my wife's and my daughter's RFE in one package. But have separate cover lettter and folder. One packet is enough, clearly distiguish between two set of papers.
My wife and I got RFE on medical. Now I am sending response to RFE. Do I need to send the RFE response individually by FEDEX or Can I send both of us responses in one FEDEX package? Please advise. Thanks.

By the ways, there is also a possibility to request retaining old priority date, without filing a second 485.
I assume this is just a request letter from attorney or any representative, if they didn't act on it follow-up with a Service Request.

My AP approvals are lost in mail, my employer mailed them in ordinary mail during holiday season (12/11/07). What can I do next? Go thru attorney for duplicates? Please advice.

I got H1 this year. I was applied my ssn on oct 9 th. still i didn't get my ssn number. two days back ssn people called and told that "in online it is showing your EAd card. so we can give u ssn if you bring the EAD card". My question is if i give my EAD, will the h1 get cancelled. please suggest me.

Hello friends
I have filed the renewal of EAD (based on pening I485) with Texas service center in July 2008. My case has been moved to the regional office in dec 2008 (the notice said for faster processing :)).
Took the infopass in Jan 2009 and the IO could not locate my application at the center but contacted the Texas and said my application waiting on background check.
Contacted the senator. Now they can find my application in regional center.
But they gave the same reason as my background check is pending. They told the senator that they can not discuss any further details.
However the Texas service center says my background check came clean long back.
Do they do background checks for renewing the EAD application?
Can they wait on any background check for 10 months to give a document that is valid for 1/2 years?

I have my H1 visa interview in Vancouver, Canada on the 21st of Nov. I'll be driving from Hillsboro (OR) to Vancouver on the 20th evening. I also have hotel reservation very close to the US embassy.
I was wondering if anyone who has an interview on the same day might be interested in sharing the ride and/or hotel expenses. Since the 22nd is a holiday, and I need to stay back for another day to get the visa, I have the hotel room booked from the 20th through the 23rd.
Please let me know if you are interested, we'll discuss further.

I joined Company A in Oct 2008 and company A applied for my Perm Application in Jul 09. I joined another company in Oct 09 and now i want to join Company A again. can i use the same PERM application or do i need to file a new PERM application. The plan was derailed when conservative activists, who claimed the program would have constituted "amnesty" for illegal immigrants, managed to pick off enough Republicans in the House and Senate to forestall a vote. Gibbs said that the White House would make an effort, though, to win the votes for a reform plan, for which President Obama reiterated his support.

Hello Friends,
I am in 7th yr of my H1B and I have got 3 yrs extension on my H1B after
completing my 6 yrs. I have got my labour appliation and I-140 approved 1 year back and filed my I-485 in MAR'2005. My PD is Jan 2002, India EB3.
In SEP'2005, I got married and my spouse came to this country on H4 Visa.
Because of retrogresion.I couldn't file I-485 for my wife. Now I am waiting for my PD to get current to file 485 for my wife.
My question is, Can I change my employer by doing H1B Transfer. So that my
spouse wont be losing H4 Status. Also, when my PD becomes current can I ask my new employer to file 485 application for my spouse.
My lawyer has told me that filing Spouse's 485 has to be done with the same
employer who filed your application. Is it true? or Can I change my employer.

Considering many limitations to move a job from non-profit to for-profit, I am considering moving my job to another non profit. With my current employer, my 6 year H-1 B will expire by the end of next year April. So if my change my employer, I will have a very short time to start the process again till I reach I -140 approval again with the new employer.
I heard that from non-profit to for-profit, you are subject to the quota and you have to apply for H-1B quota. But in this case, your previous 6 year with non profit doesn't count.
But if I move from non-profit to non-profit, do I have to reach I-140 approval before my current H-1 B with my current employer expires? Or do I just get another 3 year with new non-profit employer?
If I have to get I-140 approval with new non-profit employer before my current 6 year H-1 B expires, is it doable?

My PD is 09/2002. I have already renewed EAD for 3 times. Still I have been using my H1, not on EAD. Due to lot of expenses, I don't want to renew EAD again. Current EAD is expiring in September. Is that okay? or better renew? Thanks.
