If the GC quota is 9800 for India then to process 750,00 applications ( most of them will be India I am sure ) will take like 20 years . Thats impossible man !!!

These Govt. agencies are so efficient that they can even go through these forums and connect IDs here to applications. It is a piece of cake for them to find out the entire background of an applicant as soon as even the LC is filed. They very well know who is stuck with which employer in which state and what stage and to whom they are approving the GCs. If the employers are Americans, they can even call the DOL and ask them to hold the LC approval because they know that once their employees get their GCs they will quit them.
I am not trying to be negative and pessimistic, but please think about the chances of immigrants sueing these Govt. agencies during any of the stages in GC process and winning the lawsuit. And ofcourse, the immigration lawyers are too happy with the retrogressions and the way the immigration system works in this country.

This issue was discussed in detail in Ombudsman report in 2006. Please look from page 29 which gives detail description of the inability to give accurate numbers and communicate effectively between USCIS and DOS.
It clearly states that DOS was unable to determin exact numbers and could not co-ordinate with DOL / USCIS regarding cut-off date, by country numbers and also the total number of cards issued resulting in not all allocated numbers are approved as well.

In addition to my above post, one can be on h1b and keep getting h1b extensions and apply for consular processing instead of AOS.

When you are working for a large(r) corporation, where all fees (including EAD/AP) are paid for by the company, who pays for the MTR?
I was under the impression that the employer pays for the filing, attorney, etc. fees, am I wrong?
Depends on ur employer. Usually after AC21 - it is obvious that there is no fee involved and many companies hire you after ac21 because they do need to deal with stuff like this.
Your employer ONLY needs to give a letter as per the AC21 rule and thats it.

It is not the right thing -- from your perspective, because you can't take advantage of it. From the USA point of view multinational executives can potentially create jobs and that's why they must be allowed

They are here to to make the transition happen from Onshore to Offshore. I have complete knowledge on how this EB1 thing works , as I was one of them once upon a time before taking up my current job.
And to make things more clear, I didn't quit the job just because I wasn't getting a chance to file in EB1, its because you are expected to work 24/7, Yes I mean 24/7 having to take calls midnight, logging and working from home in odd hours, any day time with offshore, onshore, clients and paid like 65k. Life sucked and I couldn't take it any more and had to leave..
I'll stop and leave it here....

I agree with the above posts, they are stealing money by having stupid charges. Why do you need to charge a customer Rs.400 for changing his account password. It is absolutely ridiculous! Compare that to a bank in US, you just go online and change the password. Also, they have 2 passwords one called Account password to login to the account and another called Transaction password for making any transactions. So the more number of passwords you have the more you tend to forget either of them and they can charge you Rs.400 for each password reset!:mad:

Unfortunately, there isn't a fast lane for nurses. If your PD is April 31, 2007, my advise to you is to monitor the monthly Visa Bulletin and once your PD becomes current, you will know that it is just a few months ahead. For now, with the current turn of events, without the fast lane for nurses, you are looking at two years of waiting.

Both people listed on a "married filing jointly" return must have valid SSNs to qualify for the payment � if only one has a valid SSN, neither can receive the payment.
