I Feel that what USCIS will do next is not return any application back to sender but DUMP them in some backlog storage room like BEC center and people hAVE TO WAIT FOR NEXT YEAR VB in OCTOBER IN ORDER TO GET RECEIPT NUMBER BASED ON PD AND THEN THEY WILL GET EAD and AP. The only thing is one might save on INCREASE 485 FEES:eek:
I don't think uscis can do that. They can either accept applications or reject them. If they hold the applications for next 3 months, they would violate their long-term procedures and would fear a lawsuit because of that. They know that they are original documents in those applications that can be used once again...god knows when...

I totally agree with you. Besides all our spouses wud LOVE that idea :)
Unfortunately i doubt that anyone wud raise it in the senate. As it is the H1Bs are facing issues, can u imagine the uproar NumbersUSA wud create on hearing this. There are a LOT of things wrong with the US immigration system.

Manish (who works with Aman) did the same .......
He put the whole I 140 application along with the I 485 filing.
These people are awesome ......... There are many other immigration forms but they dont even lift the calls.
I am just amazed with the way these people are dedicated.

I know IV is doing its best and there are other groups fighting for HR 5882.
But honestly, what are the chances for this bill to succeed this year (before election)?
-- The July 2007 visa bulletin reversal.
-- FBI name check
-- 2 yr EAD
These are all changes that happened because people brought it to the attention of lawmaker and administrators. Before I get complaints, I am not saying IV solely gets credit for it. Whatever the mechanism for change, it happened because the immigrant community worked together and fought to get relief.
We have to continue to work together, otherwise its status quo and be stuck in the mess.

I am sure IV core, volunteers and other helpful folks have in the past and continually trying to contact various media agencies and channels to get the necessary coverage.
I think even after the rally, we should still continue to contact these agencies/tv channel websites (by sending them emails maybe.. calling them..) until they know the intensity & urgency of the issue.
Im sure one email will not suffice. The sheer number can make the difference and get their attention.
While the IV core thinks & works on about the future roadmap, I think all the members can try to contact these channels and then direct them to IV core for proper information...
Do you think this may make some difference and add any value to the movement.

our prime minister wants us to come back to India. So his daughter may not be a good candidate for our GC issues.
Don't get me wrong, as the prime minister, he is interested in India progressing and using our talent for that purpose, not the US taking advantage of us.

Me and my wife applied for AP renewal on the same date, my wife received the receipt notice but I haven't received mine yet. It's been almost 10 days since we sent the documents to USCIS Nebraska center. even the check isn't cashed out yet. Did this happen to anyone? any suggestions guys??

As far as I know, if one goes to UK on a work permit, the spouse can start working from the beginning itlsef. The professional and the spouse get their automatic PR in 4 years just by being there. There are similar examples in other countries, but, the fact is that if we have to be in the US, we have to go by "their rules".
I admire US administration's guts to openly admit and declare that they are biased and work on a case by case basis or at will when it comes to looking out for their own interests, even in the immigration (Not to mention, they look confused as well).
For example, how is a spouse of an L1 visa holder anyway different from a spouse of and H1 ? The difference is that the US government presents the L2 spouses with an EAD at arrival and restricts the H4 spouses to home.
Well, I think we should take one thing at a time, and the current task in hand at IV is more than enough to comprehend and fight for, adding the H4 issue eventually may add value, but not at this juncture.

Based on the labor approvals, I am expecting EB2 will touch 2007 in the next 3 to 5 visa bulletins. Since, till late 2005 EB2 is current only. Say there are about 10 thousand back log EB2s and they need 10thousand *2.5 visas= 25 thousand visas.Because in 2006, 22298 labors been approved, say half of that means 10 thousand are EB2 and 10 thousand *2.5= 25,000 visas are neaded to clear offf all 2006. So to clear all EB2s till 2006 Dec theres a need of 50k visas. But due to the spillovers we are getting 50k visas in 2008 fiscal year itself. So for the year starting with 2009 theres a strong possibility of EB2 PD to move to 2007. And before and after PERM there are very few applied for Labors. The above data itself showing the less numbers after PERM implemented.

I think bribing would mean IV paying people to come to the rally...! Here we ar eonly registering them...
On second thoughts, we could collect $30 or so for food and bring lunch packets.. and forget the reimbursement part..!
