You are missing the whole point. If it was the way they worked it's fine, or if that's the way they are going to work that's fine too. But the only reason this was being done so fast is to churn out the maximum pending EAD's with 1 year approvals, so they come back to us with $340 checks next year. If it wasn't greed than they wouldn't have put point 5 and made EAD free only for post July 30 filers. If they were really loaded with application they would have done 2 years AP too.
And don't talk about India here. We are the people who paid peanuts to study Engineerings, doctorates etc from world renowned Institutions. We harldly pay for any services provided by the govt. And above all, what are we doing in return to our countries since we left. We never even bothered to go back and check how's our motherland doing.
I feel we don't have any right to talk about India....

Though your feelings are ok, the reality is different.
1. yes there are lot of capbale people through out the world earning less than what an average person earns in US. Why any country should provide visas to them if the country does not gain anything from it. Better to know the supply Vs demand concept.
2. Being a very capable person, you choose to be on H4. US did not force it on you. Everyone has the option of going back to their home country or wait here till they get what they desire. You weigh both the options and decide which suits you better. If you decide to stay on H4 for 4-5 years, then at somepoint for some reason you thought it is better than going back. So be practical.
As someone said, one should feel deserved to get GC and not beg for it. Again I am sorry for your status. My wife with CA and CPA and she is on H4 for 5 years now. I know how frustrating it will be. Worrying will not help much. Accept the reality and think calmly which way you want to go in your life down the line in next 5 years. Take actions now for that which may end up in leaving this counrty or staying with current status until you get GC. You have to make up your mind to live a peaceful life.
This GC process will throw anyone into depression.
Good luck.

Obama is no panacea either. Why do you think someone with little experience is a liability to be second in command, but the same lack of experience is admirable quality for the first in command.
Also, Obama has been changing his positions on issues to pander to the voters, I doubt he will be any different from Bush either. The only change you are going to see is in himself -- not the way things are done. He will probably pay more of the tax monies to people who gambled with their houses (and are still not being punished for it).
Obama's lack of experience does not bother me as much as Palins because you have to see what people have done in whatever experience they have had. Obama did community service, has had a strong moral fiber in whatever he has said. Palin has already abused whatever little power she had. Being a senator Obama has atleast been exposed to world-wide issues. I bet Palin cant even locate Georgia on the map. Did you see her recent interview? In spite of it being carefully staged, see her stumble aimlessly when it comes to the question of the Bush Doctrine... The biggest foreign policy change this country made (decision to make pre-emptive attacks) and Palin does not have an opinion on it because she does not even know what it is. The interviewer had to tell her what teh Bush Doctrine is all about. Are'nt you scared of a person like that leading the US? Why does this country always pick screwed up vice presidents (Dick Cheney's approval ratings have been <30% for as long as I can recall)
Either way, from an immigration point of view (focus of this forum) we are screwed (see my previous post for stances of both presidential candidates)

The mere mention of Fragomen makes my blood boil :mad:. This law frim is the most useless in my opinion. They have no concern for their eventual client. My labor application was rejected :( because of the inefficient ppl at Fragomen. Their attitude was still so casual as if nothing happened. I am forced to use them but I would not recommend this Law firm even to an enemy.

hello sanju and mandal
What senthil has said in his earlier post were actual facts and he is thinking much wider than you guys. In a public forum like this, comments from a senior member like this are not appreciated.
<Many of us who visit IV forums everyday know that snethil1 is an idiot>.... DO NOT CREATE AN IMPRESSION OR REPRESENT YOURSELF AS REPRESENTATIVE OF THE WHOLE CROWD.
Good luck!
(Note: I wont have time to argue further)
Hello mmandal,
Many of us who visit IV forums everyday know that snethil1 is an idiot. I would highly recommend more people to add him to your ignore list, just as I did. I read his post because you quoted him in your post. Otherwise his posts do not even show up on my screen. He and his posts are inconsequential if you add him to your ignore list.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,

Congress quietly returns to immigration (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showpost.php?p=167577&postcount=1090) A broad overhaul failed this summer, but an array of smaller measures is under discussion, including ways to legalize certain workers By Nicole Gaouette (nicole.gaouette@latimes.com) | Los Angeles Times Staff Writer,
September 17, 2007
Republicans also are considering a bill that would overhaul visas for high-skilled foreigners.
Senate Republicans are also discussing ways to increase the number of visas for high-skilled workers, now capped at 65,000 a year.

If I'm not mistaken the bill has the provision for H1-B number increase from 65K to 115K. I'm assuming that this will be effective starting October 2007.
There is no incentive for the congress to act quickly (in August 2006) on this during an election year. They can simply wait out on this until december. Also the below mentioned corporations can wait until October 2007. They do some early planning, unlike a number of tech staffing companies.
So please do not be over-optimistic, only to be disappointed later. In your words, wait and watch!
:D This bill will be passed for sure before August. You and me are not behind this. Microsoft, CISCO and Oralce are the ones indirectly calling the shots. Anti immigrant groups can just talk and shout. Money($$$) will show it in action. Wait and Watch.

Well Said ! I guess lot of us are looking for the slightest possiblity of the applicaiton going through instead of getting rejected..
Anyways, Any guesses on what the PD will be in Oct VB? My guess is they'll not progress much and will try to stick to the June Bulletine timeframe..
What a bunch of morins we are. We are calling USCIS to find out if they are going to accept our applications that were sent on Jul 2nd 7 55 am and Jul 2nd 9 01 am will be accepted. Lord have some mercy on us and give us some brains to read the USCIS update. Damn it. The morons who answer the phone lines do not know jack about W T F is going on. Thats why you were being put on hold. Stop calling USCIS crazily.

As someone said 1% of 1000 cases does not qualify as a bad law firm, nobody is perfect, My experiences with Fragomen has been great. They were very responsive, took initiative to give me best possible advice and worked with my management to file my AOS on time and under correct category.
If you have a problem with them then write to them and ask for explanation, I am sure they will respond.

I would love to attend the rally. However my financial condition at this time does not permit me. I could have booked a ticket on my credit card but all my cards are max out!
You want to know why I am in this financial deep hole? Well, I have two sons in college and paying out of state tuition, that is over $17,000 per semester for both of them.
My wife on H4 could not work until now that she has an EAD. It is retrogression that I should blame and I would love to do all in my power to obtain relief or bring the issue to the attention of the American public.
In my own way I have contributed to IV both in cash and in kind. I have told me story in countless media interviews. I only wish I could do more for IV financially but alas I am not able to do that at this time.
I would be in the rally in spirit....only I wish I could attend in person.
We can help! We want to make sure as many people as possible come to the rally. Those in worse financial positions can take advantage of the many generous offers from other members who are willing to sponsor others.
You have one offer on this thread already http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=12441 - check this thread out for more. Yours is a compelling story, and we'd all love to hear it first hand!

Congratulations to all IV members for being able to apply for I-485. This is GREAT news. Please please apply for your I-485 at the earliest. It would be best if your application reaches USCIS in the week of 2nd July. Here is the link to July Visa Bulletin:
http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bulletin/bulletin_3258.html
Remember that you have to be in the country to apply for I-485. We may soon have lawyer’s information on our website to answer your questions in real time. Not sure till the time we get confirmation from the attorney but IV is working on this and may post this information soon.
This is a GREAT development!!!!

Can you please tell me what is a Green Card.. :)
Now, lets stop all the hate we wer showing and see if somehting good can be done for all.
Glad you asked. Green card means, the ability to award as many greens and reds to anyone on IV. This ability increases as one gets closer to permanent resident status in US.
